SCOPE 1. The Province invites bids for the supply and installation of all flooring system materials, for a new hardwood sports floor and gym floor covering at Clarenville High School (50 Gladney Street, Clarenville, NL, A5A 1G8). SPECIFICATIONS 2. Supply 6700 sq ft of hardwood flooring, which includes 10% wastage allowance, per attached. specifications. 3. Supply all subfloor/flooring system materials required for installation (allowing for industry standard wastage factors where applicable) per attached specifications. 4. Supply gymnasium floor protection covering with storage rack meeting the follow specifications: a. Floor Protection Covering 7 x 10' x 95' rolls b. Minimum 30 oz vinyl Fire-retardant d. Reversible Floor Protection Cover Storage Cart with 2 manual cranks - 6 rollers f. Storage Cart Cover - Vinyl g. Walk Behind Floor Protection Cover Tape Dispenser Floor Protection Cover Seam Tape - 16 rolls 1. Colour-blue on one side J. Minimum 10-year warranty on cover and cart 5. Supply base suitable to the new hardwood floor as per below specifications: a. Colour: black b. Standard 4" height c. 1/8" thickness d. Complete with toe profile e. Manufacturer's recommended adhesive to be used for installation 7. Supply purpose-made floor finish with high solids (minimum 25%), low VOC, oil modified polyurethane; high endurance, resistant to black marks, water, detergent, and scuffs, non-yellowing, slip resistant. Floor finish to be applied evenings and/or weekends wherever possible, doors interior to the school to be sealed and gym to be provided with constant negative ventilation to exterior. No floor finishing is to occur without prior communication to the Province. 8. Approximate gym dimensions attached on as-built drawing-precise measurements to be confirmed by vendors at the time of installation. 9. The school currently has Mondo Sport II rubber floor adhered to concrete slab. There are numerous lifting/cupping seam issues with the existing floor, but otherwise level and fair condition. The existing sports flooring may be left in place or removed, at the successful bidder's discretion. Regardless of choice, bidders are to make surface level as required for installation of hardwood floor as per attached master specifications. 10. Remove existing baseboard and replace with contractor-supplied base. 11. Supply materials and labour to paint game lines and logo consistent with existing standard school gym layout and as described in attached gym lines guidance document; NLSchools representative to sign off on final layout immediately prior to painting. 12. Supply and permanently affix socket top rings over existing sockets as required to make level with the new floor. There are eight (8) existing sockets in total. The two full court Volleyball sockets are not standard size. They are what is called "Olympic standard" size. The school has the accompanying volleyball stands for these sockets, so it needs to be the same. 13. Existing eleven (11) exit/room doors and seven (7) under stage double doors to be removed and cut off by the owner - frames will remain. Bidders are responsible for supplying and installing height-transition thresholds at all these doorways. Approximate sizing indicated in red circles on as-built drawing. 14. The Province shall: a. Cut off any doors, as required. b. Provide negative air machines to assist with odor control when finishing hardwood.
