Site work, new construction and addition to an elderly care / assisted living facility in Hastings, Michigan. Completed plans call for the construction of a elderly care / assisted living facility; for site work for a elderly care / assisted living facility; and for the addition of a 21,131-square-foot, one-story above grade elderly care / assisted living facility.
BARRY COUNTY COMMISSION ON AGING ADDITION (INCLUDING THORNAPPLE MANOR OUTPATIENT SERVICES) Site Location: 2625 EAST M-79 HASTINGS, MI 49058 BID SECURITY: Bid bond is NOT required. CONTRACT SECURITY: A Performance and Payment Bond is NOT required. TYPE OF CONTRACT: The base bid shall be a lump sum amount, for the work as set forth in the bid documents. Please see the bid form for bid breakout as required. Project will be split into (2) separate contracts. (1) for Thornapple Manor and (1) for Barry County Commission on Aging. Only one trade contractor will be chosen for each bid package. Specific Bid Packages will NOT be split between (2) separate contractors BID WITHDRAWAL: No bids may be withdrawn for at least sixty (60) consecutive calendar days following the bid opening. RIGHTS RESERVED: The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, alternates, or proposals, and to accept bids, alternates, or proposals that, in its judgment, serve its best interests. The scope of work outlined in the bid category description and in pertinent standard work items will take precedence over any other language on drawings and/or in the technical specifications, which may directly or inadvertently imply scope of work. 1.2 Eckert Wordell technical specifications include divisions 00, 01, 03, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 12, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 31, 32 and 33 and all plan pages as provided. 1. Review Frederick Construction General Scope requirements as they outline additional expectations the contractor must act on. 2. Provide full-time supervision. Protect the work scheduled to remain and, if damaged, repair to an acceptable condition. 3. Submit a Site-Specific Safety Work Plan to Frederick Construction for review. 4. This bid package is to abide by all current health regulations dictated by the CDC, FDA, Local Health Department, Frederick Construction and Barry County Commission on Aging & Thornapple Manor current approved policies. 5. This bid package is responsible for the scope of work indicated in the contract documents. To include but not limited to Division 00, 01, and 05. It is expected that regardless, whether it is noted or not noted in the project plans, technical specifications, and construction project manual, this bid package will provide a complete and operational system/product that meets the intent of the contract documents. 6. Furnish and abide by all OSHA and MIOSHA regulations that pertain to this bid package's work. This includes, but is not limited to, all personal protective equipment, training and certifications, life safety systems (fall arrest, silica, respiratory, etc.), and all other applicable OSHA or MIOSHA regulations. 7. NO Smoking or Chewing of Tobacco Products are allowed on site except in areas designated by the CM. 8. NO open flames, torch cutting, grinding, or welding is allowed without an approved Frederick Construction completed hot work permit. 9. Do not park in or disturb/damage the existing lawns or plantings not scheduled for improvement. Any repairs and/or replacement of damage caused by this bid package will be paid for by this bid package. The owner reserves the right to demand replacement in lieu of patching. 10. Provide sidewalk/pavement protection, when necessary, to prevent damage to surfaces not scheduled for removal. Any repairs and/or replacement of damage caused by this bid package will be paid for by this bid package. The owner reserves the right to demand replacement in lieu of patching. 11. Storage Containers, trailers, dumpsters, equipment, and staged materials placed on parking lots, drives or green space will be placed on suitable protective materials such as plywood and planks to protect existing surfaces from damage. Any repairs and/or replacement of damage caused by this bid package will be paid for by this bid package. The owner reserves the right to demand replacement in lieu of patching. 12. Bidder is required to furnish and install all temporary barricades and protections as required to prevent entry to their work area. 13. All cutting/grinding on masonry or concrete substrates are to be done with a wet saw, or equipment fitted with HEPA filtration dust collection device that meets current OSHA Silica standards. All Slurry/Dust from cutting operations must be cleaned immediately and properly disposed of at time of cutting operations. Surrounding areas are to be protected from slurry/dust during cutting operations. This bid package is responsible for the cleaning of all slurry/dust generated from the work of this contractor. 14. Bidder is required to maintain a clean job site. Do not permit any accumulation of debris on site. Excess material and debris is to be disposed of daily. 15. Coordinate closely with all bid packages where the scopes of work directly integrates with this Bid Package. 1.
