Demolition and Debris Removal at 215 North "A" Street This invitation for Bid is for the Demolition & Debris Removal for the City of Wellington Building & Codes Department. Any necessary additional details/specifications are attached. The City may cancel an Invitation for Bid and reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids/proposals and waive informalities, if it is determined to be in the best interest of the City. 1.01 SCOPE The scope of the work to be done under this contract shall include the demolition and removal of the structures, slabs, and etc. located on the following tracts of land: Street Address 1. 215 N.A St Legal Description LOT 14, BLOCK 1, H.L. BUTTEREY'S, CITY OF WELLINGTON, SUMNER COUNTY, KANSAS Type of Building Residence, Shed This property has been deemed an immediate hazard by the City of Wellington. Work shall include complete demolition and removal of the structures, foundation and volunteer vegetation identified on the property. If clarification of the demolition plan, City Staff will walk through property with contractors upon request. The contractor shall furnish all technical personnel, labor, materials, equipment and services necessary to perform and complete all work required for the demolition and clearance of the above structures, slabs, etc. located on the parcel. Removal of items (furniture, appliances, trash, clothing, personal items, etc.) from within any and all dwellings covered under this contract shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. These items should be removed separately from the structure and not mixed within the demolition debris. Items holding any value shall be dealt with as detailed in Section 1.12 of this contract. Personal Items to remain on premises deemed by the City of Wellington, as not part of this contract shall be listed in Section 1.16 below. All other items currently on premises shall be deemed as trash/rubbish and be cleared from premises. 1.02 TIME LIMIT This structure has been deemed to be dangerous to public safety and work should commence in a reasonable amount of time once the contractor has been awarded with the winning bid. Once started, work on the property shall progress without undue delay. Proposed start dates will be a consideration in awarding the contract. 1.03 UTILITIES Before stalling demolition, it shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to check that all utility service connections such as water, gas, electric power, sewer, cable television and telephone have been disconnected in accordance with the regulations of the utility concerned. In the event any of the utilities are still in service, the Contractor shall notify the utility company before proceeding with the work. The Contractor shall cap and cover, with concrete, all sanitary sewers leading from the structures to be demolished within five (5) feet of the property line. The City of Wellington shall witness the sewer capping before it is covered. The Contractor shall preserve, in operating condition, all active utilities traversing the project site, protect manholes, catch basins, valve boxes, etc. Any damage to any such utility by the Contractor shall be repaired by the Contractor, at his own expense, to the satisfaction of the utility company concerned and the City Building & Code Department.
