General Requirements: Provide labor and material to replace glass panels, IG units, storefront frames and hardware. Other window repair/replacement may be included per HCS's request. B. Specific Requirements: 1. Work shall be continuous without interruptions within prescribed work hours. 2. Surfaces that cannot be repaired shall be brought to the attention of HCS as soon as possible. 3. The contractor shall ensure proper safeguards are utilized to prevent abrasions, cuts, lacerations or other safety concerns. 4. The contractor shall be responsible for exact dimensions and quantities as required. 5. The contractor shall be responsible for correct product replacements/color matching as specified. 6. The contractor shall be responsible for providing necessary equipment, including ladders, lifts, scaffolds and other supplies. 7. The contractor shall be responsible for security, daily clean up of area and protection of surrounding areas. 8. No smoking is allowed on school grounds or inside school buildings. The use of school equipment, vending machines, and phones is prohibited. 9. The contractor shall respond to emergency requests and be on site within two (2) hours of notification. 10. The contractor's service facility shall be not more that 50 miles from the School Board Office on 1 Franklin Street, Hampton, VA 23669. 11. The Contractor shall secure openings before leaving the jobsite with metal frame and plywood. 12. HCS shall be responsible for environmental testing and abatement as required. C. Location 1. Various schools and offices in the City of Hampton. Bidders must submit questions regarding this Invitation to Bid in writing to the Issuing Office via email to kyra.jackson@hampton.gov no later than December 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM EST. Necessary replies will be issued to all bidders as addenda that shall become part of the contract documents. Oral instructions do not form a part of the bid documents.
