** As of 1/10/2025 project has been awarded to Ridgway Valley Enterprises with $3,975,745.50.** East Main Water and Storm Sewer Replacement Question Deadline 12/17/2024 at 12:00 PM MT ROJECT BACKGROUND As part of the City's 2025 Moving Montrose Forward Street Maintenance efforts, the City intends to perform a mill and overlay of East Main Street between Townsend Avenue and the San Juan Bypass. In anticipation of this upcoming project, the City plans to replaced aged and undersized water and storm sewer lines within this same reach. As the more impactful of the two projects, this utility replacement project is taking place in late winter/early spring between the holiday and tourist seasons. 1.2 SCOPE OF WORK The project consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete construction of the Woodgate-East Oak Grove Roundabout and Backage Road Project in accordance with the project plans and specifications. This work includes, but is not limited to, the following key tasks. A. Obtain a special use permit for the project from CDOT for a directionally drilled waterline crossing Townsend Avenue and occupying a portion of SH-90. B. Perform investigatory potholing of critical utility crossings and tie-ins. C. Perform removals for the project to include asphalt pavement and concrete work as required to accommodate new construction. It should be noted that Main Street's pavement section includes a concrete slab at least 8 inches thick beneath the asphalt layer throughout much of the project area. D. Replace and construct new waterline infrastructure within the project area to include lines, fittings, valves, services, and fire hydrants. This task will require construction, directionally drilled lines, removal of select AC pipe, and abandonment of old valve risers/morgan boxes. E. Replace and construct new storm drain infrastructure within the project area to include piping, inlets, and manholes. F. Construct replacement concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, and curb ramps. G. Temporarily backfill project trenches to match adjacent grade immediately following construction and maintain trench cuts in a passable condition until hot mix asphalt becomesavailable in the spring. H. Patch all disturbed asphalt areas with hot mix asphalt. I. Coordinate construction surveying/stakeout to be performed by Del-Mont Consultants under contract to the City. J. Implement stormwater management, traffic control (incl. preparation of CDOT-approved methods for handling traffic (MHTs), site security, site restoration, final grading, and quality control testing as necessary to complete the work.
