This segment of the Powhite Parkway Phase 1 improvements proposes a reconstruction of the existing Powhite Parkway at Charter Colony intersection. The proposed improvement will construct a full interchange, with Charter Colony spanning over Powhite Parkway to construct a single point urban interchange (SPUI). A SPUI centralizes the turning movements of an interchange and minimizes the construction footprint. This segment of Powhite Parkway Phase 1 will also construct associated improvements on both Charter Colony and Powhite Parkway. As of March 17, 2026, this project is included in the Chesterfield County Fiscal Year 2025 Capital Improvement Plan. A design firm for the Powhite Parkway Extension project has been selected, however a timeline for construction has not yet been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
