The Project consists of constructing approximately 6.1 miles of rural 2-lane roadway. Approximate quantities include: 194,844 CY of Excavation; 151,071 TON of Aggregate Base Course Cl 5; 24,251 TON of Temporary Traffic Surface Aggregate; 4,086 LF of Pipe Conduit; 266 SF of Sign Sheeting; 70.7 ACRE of Permanent Seeding; 70,098 LF of Fiber Rolls and other items as fully described in bid documents and construction drawings. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. All work under this advertisement shall be started on a date to be specified in a written notice to proceed from the Mountrail County Board of Commissioners. Work is expected to be substantially complete and ready for final payment on the dates specified in C-520 Agreement between Owner and Contractor (Agreement) as contained in the Contract Documents. Each bid will be submitted on the basis of a cash payment for work. The bid shall be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond and North Dakota Contractors licenses in a separate envelope. The Bid Bond shall be in the amount of five percent (5%) of the full amount of the bid, executed by the Bidder as Principal and by a Surety Company authorized to do business in North Dakota as required by Section 48-01.2-5. If the Principal's bid is accepted by Mountrail County and the contract is awarded, the Principal, within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award, will be required to execute and affect a contract in accordance with the terms of the Principal's bid and any requirements and conditions of the Mountrail County Board of Commissioners. If a successful bidder does not execute a contract within fifteen (15) days, the bidder's bond must be forfeited to Mountrail County and the project will be awarded to the next lowest responsible bidder. No bid will be considered which does not fully comply with the above provisions as to Bond and Licenses, and any deficient bid submitted will be resealed and returned to the Bidder immediately. Mountrail County reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted and to hold all bids for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) days from said date of opening and to hold the three low bids and bid securities for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from said date of bid opening.
