The Lewis County C-1 School District is requesting proposals for the Highland Elementary School FEMA 361 Safe Room Addition, 25189 Heritage Avenue, Lewistown, Missouri. The work includes a bid package for a pre-cast concrete FEMA-rated storm shelter connected to the north side of the existing elementary school by a non-FEMA-rated corridor. The shelter will include restrooms, a mechanical/electrical space, a storage room, a storage mezzanine, and a flex space with an alternate provide an elementary school sized basketball court within the flex space. Site work will include some regrading and utility work with alternates including the addition of an outdoor basketball court and conversion of the existing gravel parking lot into concrete as shown on the drawings. The Lewis County C-1 School District is located in Lewistown, MO. There are approximately 900 students attending two academic school facilities. Grade levels range from pre-school through twelfth grade. The district currently has one PK-6 Elementary Level building: Highland Elementary and one 7-12 Secondary Level building: Highland High School. Bid document is based on a request for the construction of a FEMA 361 Safe Room addition to the Highland Elementary School.
