Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The City of Pittsburgh Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of the Department of Public Works, working with the beneficial input of community partners, is soliciting proposals from qualified Landscape Architecture firms for park infrastructure upgrades to Ammon Park. The park is located in the Hill District neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ammon Park is an 8.08-acre site with recreational amenities including a pool, playground, basketball courts, baseball fields and concession stand and a recreational center. The selected Consultant's Scope of Work will include the work outlined in the 'Ammon Park Preferred Concept' attachment. Design services are requested for the following: Parking Lot Improvements Create parking lot in rear portion of the site for approximately 40 spaces for park users, tournaments and camp events include lighting Basketball Court Renovations Relocate courts per the "Ammon Park Preferred Concept". Upgrades should include paving, color coating, fencing and lighting. ADA Upgrades and Connections Ensure site-wide accessibility and connectivity through pathways or switchbacks, as necessary Include walking path around facilities for multi-generational use with consideration towards future connections to Bedford Dwellings Coal Seam Trail. Athletic Field Upgrades Eliminate one diamond field in order to accommodate additional site amenities, per "Ammon Park Preferred Concept". Regrade and resurface football field, as needed, to address stormwater management concerns Upgrade amenities such as lighting, dugouts, spectator seating, batting cages and fencing, as needed Play Area Improvements Relocate and update playground equipment and safety surfacing to integrate with new spray features. Create accessible connections throughout play area, which is proposed to be two-levels, and to other park amenities Design to include 3-5 spray features Restroom/ Concession Building Evaluate existing park building to accommodate public-facing restrooms and concession needs for sports organization. It is anticipated that the building will need minimal improvements. Pavilion and Gathering Space Pavilion to accommodate 4-6 picnic tables and grill Additional green space for passive recreation adjacent to the pavilion Community Garden Evaluate the inclusion of Lighting & Safety Improvements Identify needs for proposed lighting per the newly improved park amenities outlined above Stormwater Management Stormwater BMP's should be included to meet the City's Stormwater Management Code (see General Responsibilities for more information) In addition to a Landscape Architecture firm as the prime CONSULTANT, the CITY anticipates the following Sub-Consultants and/or services may be needed for the project: Architect Civil Engineer Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Engineers Surveyor Question Deadline 12/13/2024 at 5:00 PM ET The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
