Site work for a civil project in Kingston, West Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Project involves improvements to the existing I-77 Exit 1 Sewage Pump Station. Bids will be considered for three different options with the CCPSA to select the Bid Option determined to be in its best interest. Bid Option 1 would be for installation of a manually cleaned debris basket prior to the pump station. Bid Option 2 would be for installation of a comminutor assembly prior to the pump station. Bid Option 3 would be for installation of a vertical sewage screen assembly prior to the pump station.The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall be according to provision "(ii)" contained in 11-54, Code of Virginia (1950) as amended. If a contract is for one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000) or more, or if the total value of all construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by the bidder within any twelve-month period is seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) or more, the bidder is required under Title 54, Chapter 11, Code of Virginia (1950) as amended, to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class A Contractor." If a contract is seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500) or more, but less than one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000), the bidder is required to show evidence of being licensed as a "Class B Contractor. MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. There will be no Pre-Bid Conference for this project. 7.02 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. Contact information and submittal procedures for such questions are as follows: A. E-mail: kheath@thelanegroupinc.com 7.03 Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all registered plan holders. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to Owner in an amount of 5% percent of Bidder's maximum Bid price (determined by adding the base bid and all alternates) and in the form of a Bid bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraph 6.01 of the General Conditions. Such Bid bond will be issued in the form included in the Bidding Documents. Bid security must be at least 5% of the Bidder's maximum Bid price.The Bid security of the apparent Successful Bidder will be retained until Owner awards the contract to such Bidder, and such Bidder has executed the Contract, furnished the required Contract security, and met the other conditions of the Notice of Award, whereupon the Bid security will be released. If the Successful Bidder fails to execute and deliver the Contract and furnish the required Contract security within 15 days after the Notice of Award, Owner may consider Bidder to be in default, annul the Notice of Award, and the Bid security of that Bidder will be forfeited, in whole in the case of a penal sum bid bond, and to the extent of Owner's damages in the case of a damages-form bond. Such forfeiture will be Owner's exclusive remedy if Bidder defaults. Payment and Performance Bond For any Contract for construction, the amount of which exceeds $500,000, the Contractor shall furnish to the CCPSA the bonds required under Sections 2.2-4336 and 2.2-4337 of the Code and shall otherwise fully comply with the requirements of such sections of the Code. The CCPSA reserves the right to require payment and/or performance bonds in the amount of the Contract for any other Contracts, whether or not required by such sections of the Code. . The Work will be substantially complete within One Hundred Twenty (120) days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in Paragraph 4.01 of the General Conditions, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions within One Hundred Fifty (150) days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run.
