Sealed Proposals for the following work will be received by the Whitley County Fiscal Court in the manner and on the date hereinafter specified for the furnishing of all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, services, etc., necessary for the purchase of GARBAGE HAULING AND DISPOSAL FROM THE WHITLEY COUNTY SANITATION TRANSFER STATION. Bid envelopes shall be marked "GARBAGE HAULING AND DISPOSAL" on the front of the envelope or package. The prospective bidder should bid based on hauling household and bulk garbage from the Whitley County Sanitation Transfer Station at 535 Happy Hollow Road, Williamsburg, KY 40769, to an approved landfill and shall bid dollar per ton. The prospective bidder will be responsible for providing trailers to load garbage in at the transfer station, and personnel to drive the truck and haul the garbage from the site. Monthly billing shall be based on actual tons disposed of. The term of the bid shall be from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. Current tonnages can be requested though our office at 606-549-6000. Conflicts of interest, gratuities and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445 and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for 90 days after the date the bids are opened. Any bid received after the time specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder. Whitley County reserves the right to waive any informality and may reject any and all bids. Whitley County reserves the right to award bid based upon availability, service and in the best interest for the public safety for the citizens of the County.
