Renovation of a residential development in Bristol, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Invitation for Bid ("IFB") is to obtain bids from qualified and appropriately licensed Contractors to provide the labor, materials, equipment, and permits necessary for roof replacement for the Envision Center of the Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority ("BRHA"). The work will include but be not limited to removing and reinstalling metal roofing and all associated work. Sole criteria for contract award are made to the responsive and responsible bid offering the lowest price. SCOPE OF WORK: Whenever the name of a manufacturer, trade name, brand name, or model followed by the words "or equal" or "approved equal" are used in the scope of work, it is for the purpose of item identification and to establish standards of quality, and features. Proposal of equivalent brands must be accompanied by sufficient descriptive literature and/or specifications to clearly identify the item and provide for competitive evaluation. BRHA will be the sole judge of equality and suitability. All factory recommendations shall be presented in writing to BRHA. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits and other necessary resources to properly perform the services per the specifications as outlined herein: 1. From approximately 10,585 sq. ft. Envision Center Building, remove existing roofing system, break metal, flashing, fascia trim, gable end wall metal siding and gutter and downspouts. Haul off and proper disposal following all governed rules and regulations of all portions of existing roofing materials, quantities verified by contractor. 2. Preparation of existing areas per manufacturer for new roofing replacement, quantities verified by contractor. 3. Installation of new exposed fastener Central States Manufacturing R-Loc Metal Roof (or equal) with Kynar 500 finish (or equal), roofing (color to be chosen by BRHA) including underlayment, galvanized flashing, roof deck materials (thickness including paint, .026"). Panel performance requirements: Provide panels which have been manufactured, fabricated and installed to withstand structural and thermal movement, wind loading, and weather exposure to maintain manufacturer's performance criteria without defects, damage, failure or infiltration of water. Quantities verified by Contractor. 4. Installation of proper flashing and fascia trim per manufacturer's recommendation. All metal roofing trim accessories needed for proper installation of metal roofing, small outside corners, large outside corner, rake trim, j-channel, and base guard where applicable. BRHA Envision Center Roof Replacement Q/A Cutoff Date: 12/12/2024 Q/A Cutoff Time: 03:00 PM CST. Period of Contract: One hundred and twenty (120) Consecutive Calendar Days. The Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive any informality in proposals received whenever such rejection or waiver is in the best interest of Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
