The Town of Wellesley, acting through its Board of Public Works, is seeking to engage qualified professionals with expertise in traffic engineering, planning, public engagement and landscape architecture to create a vibrant commercial corridor that provides safety and improved circulation for all users. The services provided will include data collection and analysis, robust public engagement, concept plans, 25% design level plans and documents, 90% design level plans and documents, progress meetings, and final contract documents as outlined in this RFP. Generally, the project will first contemplate the redesign of the Washington Street, Central Street and Grove Street intersection and the Central Street, Crest Road and Railroad Avenue intersection to improve pedestrian safety, and intersection operations. Once the Community is satisfied with the design ofthese two intersections, the project will then create a cohesive corridor from Wellesley Avenue to Weston Road that provides safe travel for both pedestrians and motorists while providing opportunities for pedestrians to gather and improving traffic flow through the entire corridor. The project includes restoration efforts within Wellesley Square to create ADA compliant sidewalks and crosswalks, and upgrade street lighting, landscaping, and street amenities. The Board of Public Works reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Proposals as it determines, in its sole judgment to be in the best interest of the Town of Wellesley.
