2024/2025 Capital Improvement Program - Oaks Elementary School #3 - Contract 3 Electrical Reconstruction Each Bidder must deposit, with their sealed bid, security in an amount not less than 10% of the base bid and all Alternate Bids in the proper form subject to the conditions set forth in the Instructions to Bidders (Page 3). Performance Bonds Labor/Material Bonds and Maintenance Bond, as called for in the General Conditions are a requirement of each contract. Each Bidder shall agree to hold their bid price for (45) days after the formal bid opening. The OCEANSIDE UFSD reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted, to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid, and/ or to accept any bid in whole or in part and/ or to award or not award the contract, if in the opinion of the OCEANSIDE UFSD, the best interest of the SCHOOL DISTRICT will thereby be served. This invitation is an offer to receive bids for a contract. The successful Bidder will be required to execute a formal contract in the form contained in the Contract Documents. Document Note: Complete bid package documents are available via download for a NON-REFUNDABLE fee in the amount of ($100.00) paid by CREDIT CARD at check out. The bid deposit shall be refunded to each bidder only if the plans and specifications are returned to ISLAND DIGITAL REPROGRAPHICS in good condition, with no handwritten notations within (30) calendar days after the bid opening date. All bid package deposits shall be forfeited to the SCHOOL DISTRICT after the (30) days have elapsed. Any person or corporation who fails to submit a bid shall forfeit their deposit to the SCHOOL DISTRICT in its entirety. Instruct and train each worker involved in lead abatement or lead based paint hazard reduction in proper respiratory use and require that each worker wear a respiratory, properly fitted on the face in the Work Area from the start of any operation which may expose the worker above the permissible exposure limit (PEL) until the Work Area is completely decontaminated. Use respiratory protection appropriate for the lead levels encountered in the work place or as required for other toxic or oxygendeficient situations encountered. A. The contractor shall provide a complete installation of all the electrical systems, electrical equipment, and fixtures as shown and as hereinafter specified, and/or required to make a complete and satisfactory operating electrical installation. B. It is not the intention of the specifications to describe or the drawings to show in detail all the various pieces of apparatus, equipment, fixtures and their connections. Furnish all equipment, material, and install all equipment in accordance with manufacturer's requirements and current standards of good practice. C. Provide and perform in a workmanlike manner all labor and materials necessary and, required in completing the entire electrical work as shown on the accompanying drawings and as outlined in the following specifications. All work shall be in accordance with the National Electrical Code, all local, state and national codes and authorities having jurisdiction in this area. These organizations shall include but not be limited to the NFPA, New York State Building Code, The New York State Education Department standards of the New York Fire Insurance Rating Organization, National Fire Insurance Rating Organization, and the American Standards Association. D. The electrical contractor is responsible for the electrical demolition at the proposed site. The demolition shall include but not be limited to the removal of all unused conduit and conductors. Where existing circuits to remain are affected by the demolition, the electrical contractor shall rewire as necessary to maintain service to wiring not intended to be demolished. Revise panel schedule of affected circuiting, where applicable. Relocate any existing electrical equipment to allow for the installation of new equipment, as necessary. Coordinate demolition with architectural drawings and existing field conditions. E. Where new lights are to be installed on existing ceilings, the electrical contractor is required to relocate existing devices on the ceilings to accommodate the new lighting layout. Provide & install additional boxes, conduit & conductors to modify locations of existing equipment as necessary to facilitate the installation of the new lights. F. Where new lights are to be installed on new ceilings, the electrical contractor is required to relocate existing devices on the ceilings to the new ceiling to accommodate the new lighting layout. Provide & install additional boxes, conduit & conductors to modify locations of existing equipment as necessary to facilitate the installation of the new ceiling and lights. G. Where conduits and conductors are required in the floor, the electrical contractor is required to core, drill, cut & patch floor to the satisfaction of the architect. Where there is a floor below the work being done, the electrical contractor is responsible for replacing ceiling tiles, cutting ceiling / floor and fire stopping all new openings. H. The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, tools, supervision, etc. required to install complete operational electrical systems as described in these plans and specifications. Such installations shall include but are not specifically limited to the following: 1. New exterior switch gear. 2. Cutting, chopping, rough & finish patching, including painting. 3. Temporary light & power for all trades. 4. Clean up & disposal of all construction material created by the work of this contract. 5. Cutting, channeling, coring and chasing required for accommodating the installation of electrical work and rough patching. 6. Maintenance in proper operations of existing base building systems within the contract area in accordance with the requirements of the building.
