The project consists of design and construction of a new 50'x80' heated building on site in Melville, MT to house fire apparatus. All laborers and mechanics employed by Contractor or Subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates as required by Montana State Prevailing Wage Rates. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Contractor will also be responsible for acquiring all necessary permits required by the State of Montana. Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond payable to the Sweet Grass County, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful Bidders shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance, as required, shall be provided by the successful Bidder(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided. The money, bank instrument, or bid bond shall be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. All bids must expressly covenant that if the bidder shall be awarded the contract, the bidder shall within fifteen (15) calendar days of the acceptance of said bid by the Sweet Grass County Commission, enter a contract and give good sufficient bond to secure the performance of the terms and conditions of the contract. In the event the successful bidder does not enter into a formal contract within fifteen (15) calendar days or give sufficient bond to secure performance, the bidder shall pay unto the County the difference between the amount of the bid of said bidder and the amount for which the County legally contracts with another party to perform said work if the latter amount is more than the former. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid that is in the best interest of the Owner.
