Site work and new construction of a clubhouse / community center in Marathon, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 60,000-square-foot, two-story above grade clubhouse / community center; and for site work for a clubhouse / community center.
The Town of Marathon intends to pre-qualify Contractors interested in acting as a Mechanical Contractor for the construction of the Marathon Active Living Centre located in Marathon, Ontario. Only firms that have been pre-qualified will be invited to submit a bid. The mechanical scope of work for the Marathon Active Living Centre (ALC) involves the design, installation, and commissioning of high-efficiency systems aligned with Zero Carbon Building certification standards. This includes HVAC, plumbing, and pool systems that prioritize energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort. Contractors must demonstrate experience with coordinating phased construction, working alongside multiple sub-trades, and delivering high-quality finishes to meet the demands of this fully accessible, multi-use facility. It is expected that project will be tendered in mid to late February 2025, with an expected construction start in the late spring/early summer of 2025. a) Bid Bond of 10% of a construction value of up to $3,000,000 and; b) Performance Bond for 50% of a construction value of up to $15,000,000 and; c) Labour and Material Bond for 50% of a construction value of up to $15,000,000.
