This project will refresh and improve the aesthetics and function of an aging fire station that was built in 2006. It will include efficiency repairs such as windows, water heater, insulation on west and south-facing bunk rooms, overhead bay doors, patch and paint of entire station, interior lighting upgrades to LED, and fire alarm system upgrades. Several items in this project have reached the end of their useful life and others have become outdated and are becoming problematic to repair due to the availability of parts. This will improve the overall conditions of the station, which will be 20 years old at the completion of the project. This project will also engineer an increase in firefighter safety components of bay isolations and firefighter contamination, which will directly impact the wellness of firefighters and reduce their exposure to carcinogens and pathogens in the workplace. The cost was created in coordination with the Facilities Manager. This project is included in the City of Maricopa's 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
