This project is for the replacement of cabinetry at the North Shore Park & Youth Center Arts and Crafts Room and both Playtime rooms. The current condition of the cabinetry in the Arts and Crafts Room and Playtime rooms requires urgent replacement due to severe deterioration, safety concerns, and outdated design. Deterioration of the existing cabinetry in all rooms is in a state of advanced disrepair, with visible signs of wear and tear. Several cabinets are in such poor condition that they pose safety hazards. The structural integrity of these cabinets is compromised, leading to instances of doors and shelves falling apart. This not only jeopardizes the safety of participants but also hinders the smooth operation of activities in these rooms. In addition to their deteriorating state, the current cabinets have an outdated design that no longer meets the functional or aesthetic needs of the Arts and Crafts Room and Playtime Rooms. The outdated design not only detracts from the overall appearance of these spaces but also limits their usability and efficiency. The deteriorating cabinets present immediate safety concerns, particularly in areas frequented by children and youth. Falling doors and shelves pose a risk of accidents and injuries, making the replacement of these hazardous cabinets a critical priority to ensure the wellbeing of our participants. As of December 5, 2024, this project is included in the City of Miami Beach FY 2025 - 2029 Capital Budget and 5-Year CIP and funding is allotted for construction in FY 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
