Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a water / sewer project in Esquimalt, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; and for asbestos abatement for a water / sewer project.

This is the Phase 2 solicitation following an Invitation to Qualify. Only qualified suppliers have been invited to bid. Work of this Contract consists of execution of hazardous materials abatement, demolition of Buildings 1001 (also known as the Back Guard House) and 1002 (also known as the EDC office) and backfill/site improvements at the Esquimalt Graving Dock in Esquimalt, BC. Hazardous building materials will be contained, removed, and appropriately disposed followed by demolition of the building structures to the existing concrete slab foundations. Demolition debris will be removed from site and recycled or disposed at appropriate facilities. Removal of contaminated soil beneath the building foundation to an approximate depth of 1 m below ground surface will be conducted once the building infrastructure has been removed. Contaminated soil will be contained, removed from site, and transported to a licensed disposal facility. Restoration of the site will involve placement of clean fill material and installation of paved surfaces to match existing elevations with an approximately 1 m high concrete retaining wall along the southern edge of the site.
