Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a fire / police facility in Copperas Cove, Texas. Completed plans call for the addition of a fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the renovation of a 875-square-foot fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

The addition/renovation of the existing Fire Station No.3 includes the removal of the existing side-porch for a 875 s.f. addition for patio, sleeping quarters, and one office. The addition will match the width of the existing structure and continue the CMU wall appearance. Metal studs and metal steel roof framing matches the existing station and the roof over the residential quarters will be replaced. The project includes renovation of the existing kitchen, dining, day room, and one shower to be replaced. Wall and floor finishes and cabinets will all be replaced in the living quarters, little scope within the apparatus bay of the station. The station design must be in compliance with all ADA and other applicable requirements. An automatic fire sprinkler system (NFPA 13R) shall be installed over the residential quarters only, accompanied by a remote-FDC installed near the driveway. the contractor shall be responsible for providing all permits, testing, labor, materials, machinery, equipment and necessary landscaping needed to construct and complete the Project. Any questions or requests for clarification must be submitted to the Finance Office, in writing, prior to 12:00 noon, January 2, 2025 via email to Stephanie Potvin, financedept@copperascovetx.gov subject line containing bid number and description. The City reserves the right to award the bid to either the lowest responsible bidder or to the bidder who provides goods or services at the best value for the City, in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code. Further information may be obtained from the Finance Department by email at financedept@copperascovetx.gov. All bids submitted must be plainly marked on the outside indicating the bid number, opening time and date. Award will be made at a later date. Any Bid received after closing time will be returned unopened. The City of Copperas Cove reserves the right to reject any or all bids. : The Contractor shall coordinate and schedule construction within a time frame to achieve substantial completion in 6-months from notice to proceed. A. The undersigned Bidder proposes the amount below be added to or deducted from the Base Bid if particular alternates are accepted by Owner. Amounts listed for each alternate include costs of related coordination, modification, or adjustment. B. If the alternate does not affect the Contract Sum, the Bidder shall indicate "NO CHANGE." C. If the alternate does not affect the Work of this Contract, the Bidder shall indicate "NOT APPLICABLE." D. The Bidder shall be responsible for determining from the Contract Documents the affects of each alternate on the Contract Time and the Contract Sum. E. Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any alternate, in any order, and to award or amend the Contract accordingly within [60] days of the Notice of Award unless otherwise indicated in the Contract Documents. F. Acceptance or non-acceptance of any alternates by the Owner shall have no affect on the Contract Time unless the "Schedule of Alternates" Article below provides a formatted space for the adjustment of the Contract Time. The project consists of the proposed construction of an addition to the existing structure at the site located at 1050 West Highway 190 in Copperas Cove, Texas, in Coryell County. It is understood that the proposed addition will have a footprint of approximately 875 square feet (sf). The following recommendations are based on assumed slab loads of approximately 200 pounds per square foot (psf) and concentrated loads of approximately 15,000 pounds. Gessner Engineering shall be notified if greater loads are anticipated. Engineering recommendations are provided on the basis of existing conditions at the time of drilling.
