The proposed work includes the construction of a 87"-6" long, single span, W36x170 Steel 1-Girder bridge at 0 degree skew and 0% grade, located on Hopewell Road, over Burris Fork in Morgan County MO Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works project provide a 10-Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. A certified or cashier's check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the United States Department of Labor (Federal Wage Rates) and Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (State Wage Rates), whichever is higher. The Morgan County Commission hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award. The project is within the known range of the federally endangered bats. These bats are known to roost in trees when not in winter hibernation. To avoid potential negative impacts to protected bats, removal of trees will only be allowed between November 1 and March 31. Temporary erosion control measures shall be provided for this project as shown on the plans in general conformance with Section 806 of the Standard Specifications to meet, as a minimum, the following requirements for the duration of this project. The contractor shall comply with all laws pertaining to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) during construction of pedestrian facilities on public rights of way for this project. An ADA Checklist is provided herein to be utilized by the contractor for verifying compliance with the ADA law. The contractor is expected to familiarize himself with the plans involving pedestrian facilities and the ADA Post Construction Checklist prior to performing the work. . If the final payment documents are not completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Sec 109.8, within 60 calendar days of final acceptance of the project, the Contractor shall pay to the Contracting Authority the amount of $700 as liquidated damages and as a penalty for each Calendar Day until the final payment documents are completed and ready for final payment. The amount of liquidated damages shall be deducted from any payments due or to become due to the Contractor. Final payment documentation shall include but not be limited to the following: (a) An affidavit, on the form prescribed by the Contracting Authority, to the effect that all payments have been made and all claims have been released for all material, labor and other items covered by the contract bond. (b) A Certification, on the form prescribed by the Contracting Authority, showing the actual final DBE participation on the project including name of DBE, type of work and amount paid to each DBE firm. (c) An affidavit, on the form prescribed by the Contracting Authority , to the effect that all workers have been paid in compliance with prevailing wage requirements within the contract. This work shall consist of the dry process of adding ground tire rubber (GTR) to modify bituminous material to be used in highway construction. Existing GTR requirements in Section 1015 pertain to the wet process method of GTR modification that blends GTR with the asphalt binder (terminal blending or blending at HMA plant). The following requirements shall govern for dry process GTR modification. The dry process method adds GTR as a fine aggregate or mineral filler during mix production. All GTR modified asphalt mixtures shall be in accordance.
