The purpose of this project is to provide storage of stormwater using nature-based design practices. This work will also provide some remediation of previously disposed construction debris in the area of the new pond basin. The City of Charleston is accepting Bids for construction services for the Howie Avenue Stormwater Retrofit. The purpose of this project is to provide storage of stormwater using nature-based design practices. This work will also provide some removal of previously disposed construction debris in the area of the new pond basin. The Work will include but is not limited to: installation of sediment and erosion control, limited demolition of existing utilities, clearing and grubbing, excavation and haul-offof excavated material*, fine grading of stormwater features and pedestrian pathway, installation of pedestrian culvert crossings, and installation of landscaping, as shown in the Drawings. This item shall consist of furnishing, placing, replacing when required, marking and maintaining all Construction Layout stakes necessary for proper guidance and control of construction operations. It shall also include the preparation of all construction staking, field books, such as alignment books, slope and grade books, blue-top books etc. It shall also include any additional Surveyor's, Civil, Structural or other professional engineering services specified or required to execute Contractor's construction methods. A. Work included: Excavate, backfill, compact, and grade the site to the elevations shown on the Drawings, as specified herein, and as needed for the installation of underground utilities, storm drainage systems, roadway subgrades, building pads, and general site grading and also to meet the requirements of the construction shown in the Contract Documents.
