If the proposal is accepted and the bidder is declared "not responsive," it is hereby agreed that the amount of the proposal guaranty will become the property of the State of Illinois and shall be considered as payment of damages due to the delay and other causes suffered by the State because of the failure to adhere to the procedures required. Otherwise, the bid bond will become void or the proposal guaranty check will be returned to the bidder. Contractors who desire to become prequalified or to renew their prequalification for this letting must file with the Department of Transportation, Bureau of Construction, Room 322, 2300 South Dirksen Parkway, Springfield, Illinois 62764, a Contractor's Statement of Experience and Financial Condition no later than 4:30 PM prevailing local time, December 27, 2024. A contractor will not be prequalified for this letting unless the statement is received before the time and day established. The Department reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive minor or immaterial irregularities, informalities or technicalities, to advertise for new bids, or to request confirmation or clarification from any bidder regarding a bid. IL DOT - 007 - Deck Patching, Approach Pavement Resurfacing, Parapet Repairs, Expansion Joint Replacement, Substructure Repairs, and Slope Wall Repairs at I-180 The work on this project consists of deck patching, approach pavement resurfacing, parapet concrete repairs, expansion joint removal and replacement, sub-structure repairs, and slope wall addressing locations of erosion with additional riprap. This work consists of removing the existing markings, ensuring that the installation area is at the proper grooved depth for the selected material and to install Preformed Plastic Pavement Marking Type D - Standard - Line 9 Inch Contrast Material (white line material bordered with black material). This work shall consist of placing linear delineation panels on temporary concrete barrier wall. This work consists of furnishing and applying modified urethane pavement marking according to Section 780 of the Standard Specifications except that the modified urethane shall be applied in two applications. This work shall consist of the removal of the existing pavement, the necessary excavation and the replacement with the class and type of patch specified at designated locations. This work shall be according to Section 442 of the Standard Specifications for Class A and Class B patching and as modified herein. This work shall consist of cleaning and painting all exposed reinforcement bars by the methods specified on the plans; furnishing application and protection of the paint coatings and all other work described herein. This work shall consist of the removing, cleaning, and relocating of existing name plates as identified on the Plans and as directed by the Engineer. This work shall consist of placing cement mortar along precast, prestressed concrete bridge deck beams as required for fairing out any unevenness between adjacent deck beams prior to placing of waterproofing membrane and surfacing." This work shall consist of filling voids beneath rigid and composite pavements with cement grout. Steel cost adjustments will be made to provide additional compensation to the Contractor, or a credit to the Department, for fluctuations in steel prices when optioned by the Contractor. The bidder shall indicate with their bid whether or not this special provision will be part of the contract. Failure to indicate "Yes" for any item of work will make that item of steel exempt from steel cost adjustment.
