Work of the contract consists in providing mobilization of sufficient workforce, equipment and supervision to complete the improvements to the Post Office Lift Station. Contractor shall review the entirety of the contract documents for the full details of the work involved. The work generally includes but is not limited to: all necessary permits, site preparation, dewatering & groundwater control for open cut construction, removal & disposal of accumulated solids from the existing wet well and dry-pit, by-pass pumping, and selective demolition & modifications in the existing lift station as shown in the construction drawings; construction of a new wet well including installation of new submersible pumps, piping, valves & associated fittings, new access hatches with safety grate; electrical improvements as shown in the construction drawings and including relocation and selective demolition of existing equipment, new electrical service, pump control panel, auto-sensory controls, floats and terminal boxes; conversion of the existing wet well to a manhole; together with all related subsidiary and incidental components as shown in the contract documents for a complete and operational system. Bidders desiring further information or further interpretation of any part of the BIDDING DOCUMENTS are hereby obligated to submit a written request for such information to ENGINEER not less than 7 calendar days before the bid opening. All questions must be answered, and the data given must be clear and comprehensive. This statement must be notarized. If necessary, questions may be answered on separate attached sheets. The Bidder may submit any additional information he desires.
