Construction of a new elementary school at 5501 Mechanicsville Tpke, Mechanicsville, VA 23111 Bids received after the above-referenced date and time shall be returned to the Bidder unopened. Any adjustments to the bid written on the outside of the envelope will not be considered. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the Bidder and shall be clearly marked "New Battlefield Park Elementary School". Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Base Bid amount and all alternate bid amounts in the form of a Bid Bond as described in the Supplementary Instructions to Bidders. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the forms provided in the Project Manual, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract, and each with satisfactory corporate surety, must be furnished by the successful Bidder prior to execution of aContract. Bids may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder for sixty (60) calendar days following the actual date of opening thereof. However, if award of Contractis delayed by the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of a grant or grants, Bids may not be withdrawn by the Bidder for a period not to exceed 120 days from the date of bid opening.
