This Work consists of furnishing, installing, maintaining, and removing all traffic control devices required to provide safe movement of traffic and pedestrians through the Project at all times from commencement of the Work until Project Acceptance. Maintain roads and pedestrian facilities undergoing improvements in a condition that accommodates public traffic. Do not close roads or pedestrian facilities, except as authorized. The Engineer may modify the requirements for traffic control as deemed necessary. The Contractor is not responsible for snow removal from roads or pedestrian facilities open to public traffic. Do not suspend operations for the winter until meeting the requirements of 1803.4, "Temporary Suspensions". During authorized winter suspension, the Department will maintain traffic control devices. If traffic control devices are damaged or destroyed, the Department will pay the Contractor the value of the device as determined by the Engineer. All temporary traffic management must conform to and be installed in accordance with: o the "Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices" (MN MUTCD); o the "Minnesota Temporary Traffic Control Field Manual" (Field Manual); o the "Speed Limits in Work Zones Guidelines"; o the "Minnesota Flagging Handbook"; o the "MnDOT Standard Signs and Markings Manual"; o the Plan; o all applicable standard specifications and special provisions. Manuals listed above may be found at website. This Work consists of preparatory Work and operations, including, but not limited to, those necessary for the movement of personnel, equipment, supplies and incidentals to the Project site; for the establishment of all Contractor's offices and buildings or other facilities necessary for Work on the Project. Mobilization may include bonding, permit, and demobilization costs. This work shall consist of removing aggregate and soil sediments from paved portions of the project, or adjacent roadways, open to the traveling public, in order to provide safe conditions for the traveling public, environmental reasons, local regulatory requirements, or as otherwise directed by the Engineer. This Work consists of providing additional traffic control devices in accordance with (2012) TRAFFIC CONTROL (IDIQ) and as authorized by the Engineer. The Engineer is authorized to: (1) Require extra traffic control devices in addition to the traffic control devices shown in the Traffic Control plan or in the Field Manual. (2) Require additional traffic control devices for EXTRA WORK. (3) Require extended use for all traffic control devices which are impacted by excusable and compensable delays, as defined in MnDOT 1806.2B. This work consists of cleaning the bridge deck, sidewalk, median, and concrete barriers for evaluation of crack density in advance of the actual bridge deck sealing operations. Washing the treatment area well in advance of sealing activities cleans deck surface of most dirt, enables cracks to become visible during the drying process and allows the treatment surfaces to fully dry out before preparation for product application. The Engineer shall determine the appropriate crack size to be sealed before flood sealing operations begin for each structure. (See sample gage below to determine the crack widths.) Based on observed crack width, a sealing treatment in combination with either silane or a flood seal will be ordered by the Engineer. Furnish and apply a penetrating sealer to the vertical concrete railing area of the Bridge. Perform this work in acordnce with the applicable provisions of 2433, "Structure Renovation," the plans, as directed by the Engineer. Furnish and apply a penetrating sealer to the entire concrete surface areas of Bridges listed in Task Orders that are identified by the Deck Cleaning and Mapping stage detailed in SB-4.1. Treatment areas will exclude the vertical faces of barriers and concrete railings but include curb faces not coated with paint or special surface finish. Perform this work in accordance with the applicable provisions of 2433, "Structure Renovation," the plans, as directed by the Engineer.
