Q&A Deadline 12/19/2024 12:00 PM (PST) The City administers a voluntary program (Council Policy 400-10 [attached as Exhibit E to the RFP]) to repair damage to and perform clean-up of private property resulting from main stoppages, water main breaks, sewer backups, and sewer pump station failures. The City may also respond to private property damaged by other accidental discharges from the water and wastewater systems. The City presently maintains approximately 3,462 miles of water mains and 2,972 miles of sewers. The City annually responds to approximately 75 water main breaks and 40 sewer backups. Not all water main breaks and sewer backups result in damage to property. To ensure that clean-up and repairs are performed in a timely, consistent, and cost-effective manner, the City is seeking to contract with firms specializing in insurance-related clean-up and reconstructive repairs. The Contractor will generally be required to provide all labor, equipment, and materials to perform and complete the services contemplated in this RFP, as well as have cost proposals, estimates, and invoices reviewed by the City's claims adjuster in connection with any claim under Council Policy 400-10. The objective of this RFP is to make an award to a qualified Contractor which delivers as-needed, on-call remediation, clean-up, and reconstructive repair services for certain water and sewer related damage claims that represents best overall value to the City while meeting or exceeding the specifications and requirements of this RFP. Contract Terms: One (1) year, with four (4) additional one (1) year options to renew from the Effective Date, as defined in Article I, Section 1.2 of the City's General Contract Terms and Provisions.
