Fa Proj , Suffolk Co., Runway Pavement Improvements - Republic Airport, Town of Babylon, Prebid Meeting, Aviation Construction, Bid Deposit: 5% of Bid (~ $750,000.00) , Goals: Dbe: 10.00% Every bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check or bank cashier's check payable to the NYS Department of Transportation, in the sum of the amount shown on the proposal title page. Bonds must be on form CONR 391. Electronic bids must include an electronic bid bond. Project related technical questions or comments must be submitted through the Construction Contracting section of the NYSDOT Business Center on the NYSDOT website Contract administration or procurement questions may be submitted either through the website or directed to Robert Kitchen, or the Assistant Director/Director of the Office of Contract Management, (518) 457-2124. Runway 1-19 Pavement Improvements at Republic Airport Project Bid Deposit = $750,000. Total Construction Duration = 124 consecutive calendar days Liquidated Damages are proposed for each proposed phase. Some work phases will require the closure of both Runway 1-19 and Runway 14-32. Both runways to be closed during intersection work. The Contractor shall adhere to the Construction Safety and Phasing Plans (CS&PP), as provided with the contract bid documents. The project is located within the airfield side of the airport. Specific accessibility information and procedures will be provided in the contract bid documents. The Contractor will have to coordinate with the Airport's Operations Manager for site access. Location: Suffolk County The Contractor shall adhere to the Construction Safety and Phasing Plans (CS&PP), as provided with the contract bid documents. This project requires close coordination with Republic Airport. The contractor must coordinate and schedule their construction activities with the Airport's Manager and Engineer-in-Charge. The project is located within the airfield side of the airport. Specific accessibility information and procedures will be provided in the contract bid documents. The Contractor will have to coordinate with the Airport's Operations Manager for site access. The Contractor will not be allowed to start any work on the contract until after a grant agreement is executed between the FAA and NYSDOT which is anticipated in the Fall of 2025. Bidders shall adjust their bids accordingly and shall anticipate an extended Award period. Funding/Goals - This project is anticipated to be Federally funded, from a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant. 10.0% DBE Goals will apply. Schedule Scheduled Letting date of February 6, 2025, with an expected project construction completion of December 31, 2026. Project Description The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is administering a project to improve Runway 1-19 at the Republic Airport, which is located in the Hamlet of East Farmingdale, Town of Babylon, Suffolk County. NYSDOT is the owner of Republic Airport. The runway improvement work incorporated in this contract includes: Rehabilitating Runway 1-19 (mill and fill), Installing pavement markings, and Reinstalling some in-pavement runway lights.
