Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. Working plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; and for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel.
The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, the following: Site work and new construction of a Companion Bridge to the Existing I-71/75 Brent Spence Bridge over the Ohio river between Covington, KY and Cincinnati, OH. As of October 22, 2025, a general contractor has been assigned for this project. While a firm sub-bid due date has not yet been released, sub-bid packages for some of the trades have started to come due, with others to follow at a later date. No firm date for later trades exists at this point. A groundbreaking is expected by the fourth quarter of 2026, however a firm construction timeline for this project has not yet been released.
