Window Installation/Replacements Window Installation at Fire Station #2 (4505 McGaw Rd.) Window openings. Contractor shall remove and haul away the existing windows, window frames, sashes, jambs, screens, and storms from the following 14 openings of the Work Site ("Openings"): o Five openings for the Day Room opening/s o One opening for the Kitchen Sink opening o Three openings for the Fitness room o Three Marvin openings for the Men's Bathroom/Locker room openings o One opening for the computer room opening o One opening for the Kevin's Office room opening Inspection of openings. Once the existing windows are removed completely from the Work Site and properly disposed, Contractor will and inspect all Openings for rotten and water damaged wood and will replace as necessary. Window installation. Replacement windows must be MARVIN Ultrex INFINITY double hung reinforced fiberglass windows ("Replacement Windows"), unless otherwise noted. The Replacement Windows must comprise of insulated Glass - LoE2 with argon gas. Contractor will install 24 Replacement Windows in the drywall of the Openings, as follows: o Replace/install five Marvin Infinity Series premium Ultrex fiberglass 2-wide double hung window unit/s for the Day Room Openings. o Replace/install one Marvin Infinity Series premium Ultrex fiberglass 2-wide double hung window unit for the Kitchen Sink Opening. o Replace/install two Marvin Infinity Series premium Ultrex fiberglass 2-wide double hung window units for the Fitness room Openings. o Replace/install one Marvin Infinity Series premium Ultrex fiberglass Picture window unit for the Fitness room opening. o Replace/install three Marvin Infinity Series premium Ultrex fiberglass Awning window units for the Men's Bathroom/Locker room Openings. o Replace/install one Marvin Infinity Series premium Ultrex fiberglass 2-wide double hung window unit for the computer room Opening. o Replace/install one Marvin Infinity Series premium Ultrex fiberglass 2-wide casement window unit for the Kevin's Office room Opening Paint and Hardware. Contractor shall paint or install the exterior and interior portions of the Replacement Windows and hardware, as follows: o Contractor shall paint the exterior area around the Replacement Windows Bahama Brown. o Contractor shall paint the interior area around the Replacement Windows Stone White. o Contractor shall install the hardware for the Replacement Windows in White. o Lifts - one per window o Contractor shall install for the Replacement Windows exterior screens - Full bright view o Contractor shall install for the Replacement Windows glass spacers in stainless finish o Grids / Grilles - None Siding removed and flashing installed around windows. Contractor will prepare the opening with ice and water shield waterproof membrane sill pan lapped over exterior house wrap. Contractor will install new windows with nailing flange (Brick openings may not allow this type of install) and/or jamb installation method. Contractor will apply 2nd layer of ice and water shield flashing around exterior. Contractor will inject low-expansion spray foam around perimeter of new unit and exterior will be capped with custom formed aluminum coil and Quad caulk (color to match the window) will surround the coil to give a maintenance free exterior finish. Warranties. Contractor shall guarantee all available and applicable warranties, as provided by the manufacturer, shall be passed on to the City of Waukegan. Bid Bond 10% M/WBE's are encouraged to participate in the bid process. The City reserves the right to reject proposals from Bidders who fail to attend.
