The University of Rhode Island (URI) Department of Athletics is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a replacement batting cage netting and installation of the net for the Division 1 Baseball/Softball Team's indoor batting cage. The original netting was completed when the batting barn was built in 2011, the current netting "cage" was replaced 6 years ago. The entire netting system needs to be replaced and installed from a qualified vendor that has experience working with other Collegiate or Professional Baseball/Softball Team's indoor batting cage system. A 15' x 45' x 70' netting "cage" is currently hung in the batting barn. There are 2 dividing nets 15' x 70' that divide the "cage" in three batting tunnels. The 2 divider nets have vinyl panels to protect the net from ripping and balls being batted into other tunnels. The divider nets can be pulled back to make one large, netted area. The netting needs to be tightly held with cable from the roof and front/back walls of the batting barn. Requirements: Batting Cage Netting and Materials: 1. Nylon Custom Batting Cage, ceiling ropes in both directions every 6-8', vertical ropes at each corner 2. Nylon Custom Netting panel with rope border around entire perimeter - black 3. Windscreen Barriers, 18 inches H x 70'L and grommets every 12" on one finished length only, vinyl borer around entire perimeter - black 4. 3 Flap Doors 4' x 8' Panel 5. Cables and other bolts for installation Installation 1. Installation should include project management, engineering and install for the netting system mentioned in 1-5. 2. Installation should not include costs associated with removal of existing netting as this will be done internally at URI. BID SURETY. Where bid surety is required, bidder must furnish a bid bond or certified check for 5% of the bid total with the bid, or for such other amount as may be specified. Bids submitted without a required bid surety will not be considered. PERFORMANCE BONDS. Where indicated, successful bidder must furnish a 100% performance bond and labor and payment bond for contracts subject to Title 37 Chapters 12 and 13 of the Rhode Island General Laws. All bonds must be furnished by a surety company authorized to conduct business in the State of Rhode Island. Performance bonds must be submitted within 21 calendar days of the issuance of a tentative notice of award.
