All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The City of Wheaton is soliciting competitive bids for the 2025 Fall New Sidewalk Program. PROJECT SCHEDULE Completion Date: November 21, 2025 SCOPE OF WORK This project includes PCC sidewalk installation, sidewalk removal, topsoil furnish & place, sodding, parkway restoration, concrete curb and gutter, ADA curb ramps, driveway apron removal and replacement, tree removal, and all incidental, appurtenant, and collateral work therefore (collectively the project) necessary to complete the project within the project limits. See attached technical specifications and drawings. Full size drawings have been uploaded as a separate document. All questions, either administrative or technical, shall be submitted via email to Tony Sperkowski at asperkowski@wheaton.il.us no later than September 17, 2025, at 11:00 am (CST). All questions, clarifications or revisions regarding this bid will be issued via a written addendum and published on the City's website. Each Vendor shall acknowledge receipt of any addenda on the Cost Proposal form. Each Vendor, by acknowledging receipt of any addenda, is responsible for the content of the addenda and any changes to the bid. Failure to acknowledge issued addenda may cause the bid submittal to be rejected BONDS Bid Bond: A Bid Bond/Bid Deposit of 10% of the full contract price is required with your bid submittal. Payment Bond: The successful Bidder shall provide an original Payment Bond equal to one hundred ten percent (100%) of the full amount of the award. Performance Bond: The successful Bidder shall provide an original Performance Bond equal to one hundred ten percent (100%) of the full amount of the award. Maintenance Bond: The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Maintenance Bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the final contract price for the faithful performance of the Bidder's obligation to maintain and keep in good repair, the work herein contracted to be done and performed for one (1) year from the date of final acceptance by the City. The cost of said bonds shall be included in the total bid amount.
