Site work and new construction of a laboratory facility in Ralston, Alberta. Completed plans call for the construction of a 135,000-square-foot, two-story above grade laboratory facility; and for site work for a laboratory facility.
Defence Construction Canada (Dcc) is Requesting Proposals From Design-build Teams to Design and Construct the New Chemical and Biological Laboratories for Defence Research and Development Canada at Suffield, Alberta, Following a Modified Design-build Approach. The Design-Builder is to design and construct new facilities to consolidate and modernize the chemical and biological research facilities at the SRC. The new facilities will allow DRDC to continue the high-risk research necessary to support the Canadian Forces into the 21st century. The new facility, which will consist of laboratories and office spaces, has a net space requirement of approximately 12,500 m2, and is to be designed and built to seek a Green Building Certification (GBC) of Two Green Globes. The site for the new facility at CFB Suffield is west of Highway 884 and south of Township Road 153A. A site location figure is included at the end of this RFP. The site location is further described in Section 1.4 of the SOW. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
