Southeast Guilford High School New Fire Alarm System Installation Project Furnish all materials and labor for the Wiley Elementary School new Fire Alarm system installation Project. Please allow sufficient time for this, as late bids will not be accepted. Questions regarding the bid package should be directed in writing to Fassil Mitiku via email. All questions must be received by December 20, 2024. Answers to questions shall be issued by December 30, 2024. A brief description of work in the project as follows: The existing fire alarm system (all devices, wiring and conduits) shall be removed completely. A new addressable voice evac fire alarm system with all associated devices, wiring and conduit shall be installed. The existing fire alarm system in the school shall be removed after the new fire alarm system is installed, inspected and approved by the City of Greensboro/Guilford County Fire marshal s office. Bidders must be properly licensed for the work in accordance with Section 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. A 5% Bid Bond and 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds are required for this project. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days. Minority businesses are encouraged to submit bids for this project. The appropriate forms from the section entitled Participation by Women and Minority Owned Businesses must be submitted with each bid to show good faith efforts to obtain Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise participation. The Guilford County Board of Education awards public contracts without regard to race, religion, color, creed, national origin, sex, age or handicapped condition as defined by North Carolina General Statutes, Section 168A-3. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids presented and to waive any informalities and irregularities. SUMMARY: The scope of the project is to replace the existing fire alarm system in Southeast Hight School with a new Addressable Voice Capable Fire Alarm System. All work is to be accomplished during summer recess, including inspection and certification. The following is a general summary of work in tabulated form: 1. Provide submittal review and procure all materials for project. 2. Provide inventory of any existing damaged ceiling grid prior to removal or start of work. 3. Remove Existing Equipment and Devices. Complete new fire alarm pathways and fire caulking. 4. Pull new fire alarm cable systems in new pathways. 5. Install devices and terminate cable. 6. Complete 100 percent contractor testing. 7. Complete 100 percent engineer/owner testing. 8. Complete testing with local County Fire Marshal. 9. Remove existing fire alarm devices, panels, cables complete. Provide stainless plates for all abandoned boxes. Turn over Notifier Fire Alarm Devices to Owner. 9. Replace ceiling tiles at location of existing removed devices. Patch and paint walls at location of removed panels. The noted summary is an outline of major work components.
