The work to be done (hereinafter referred to as "Work" consists of furnishing all materials and equipment, and performing all labor necessary for the construction of, but not limited to, the following major components: Demolition of existing high service pumping equipment, piping and structures located in three separate buildings on the site. Construction of a new 48 MGD firm capacity high service pump station and associated yard piping improvements. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, equipment, and materials to complete this Project. The Contractor shall make arrangements with Dalton Utilities for temporary power. The Contractor shall be responsible for the cost of permits or licenses required to complete the work. The Contractor shall complete all necessary clean-up and restoration work such that post construction conditions are equal to or better than those conditions that existed prior to any construction activity occurring. Contractor's License: All bidders must possess any and all licenses and permits as may be required by applicable federal, state and/or local law/ordinances. Performance and Bid Bond: A bid bond will be required in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount. A contract performance bond and a payment bond, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, will be required of the successful bidder. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents obtained from other sources. The costs of the Bidding Documents is dependent on the number and size of the sets ordered and shipping option desired. This cost is non-reimbursable and can be obtained at the bid site noted above. No partial sets will be sold. The right is reserved to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities. Time Allotted: All work, as specified herein, shall be substantially completed within 610 calendar days of the notice to proceed, with completion within 640 calendar days. This notice will be issued at the preconstruction meeting which will be scheduled shortly after the final contracts have been executed. Bidder Pre-Qualification: Pre-qualification of Bidders for the Project is required. The Pre-Qualification requirements are a part of the Instructions to Bidders of the Project Manual. Applications for pre-qualification for bidding will be received at the Dalton Utilities Administration Building, 1200 V.D. Parrott Jr. Parkway, Dalton, Georgia 30721 until 4:00 P.M. local time January 9, 2025. Only Bids submitted by properly pre-qualified Bidders will be opened.
