This work consists of removal of existing appurtenances such as benches or trash cans, the milling of asphalt in accordance with Section 607 of the 2024 North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Standard Specifications, and full depth asphalt or concrete sidewalk removal in accordance with Section 250 of the 2024 NCDOT Standard Specifications. The Phase 3 Bus Stop Improvements project includes 36 new ADA-compliant bus stops with concrete boarding pads to support the new GoCary Routes 11 and 12, scheduled to start service in 2025. There are also 43 existing bus stop locations that will be improved to meet ADA standards. This work also includes amenity and safety improvements, including curb ramp and crosswalk upgrades, and a new pedestrian crossing, including markings and pedestrian signals. Install bus stop amenities to existing and proposed bus stop locations as shown on the plans. The work will generally consist of clearing, grading, concrete pads and sidewalks, installing amenities, traffic control and other related items. Contractors offering a proposal on this project must be licensed to do the specified type of contracting in the State of North Carolina. All bids must include a non-collusive affidavit. Contractors offering a proposal on this project must comply, and must ensure that their subcontractors comply, with the requirements of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the North Carolina General Statutes, "Verification of Work Authorization," and must provide documentation or sign affidavits or any other documents requested by the Town of Cary demonstrating such compliance. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders.
