This project has been cancelled. SCOPE OF WORK: The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) will provide all the required materials, consisting of forty (40) miles lineal or twenty (20) track miles of Running Rail 115LB RE. DTPW will also provide the flagman to assist the contractor while work is being performed on the track. Key activities of the project can be broken down as follow: 1) Third rail will be de-energized prior to work commencing. 2) The project consists of removing and replacing 40 miles lineal or 20 track miles of Running Rail. The 40 miles lineal or 20 track miles of Running Rail will need to be welded to achieve Contentious Welded Rail (CWR). 3) Contractor will provide the joint bars, nuts & bolts to connect each installed piece of running rail - each joint set will consist of 4 bolts completely tightened for safe service prepared for welding to achieve Contentious Welded Rail (CWR). 4) DTPW will set up single tracking service to accommodate the contractors working on the system. Contractor responsible for providing their employees with all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 5) DTPW will provide any necessary track drawings as required to perform the work. 6) DTPW will provide contractors with Track & Guideway Safety Training, including Power Safety Training. 7) Contractor to mark and inform DTPW supervisors of any mismatch of rail that they encounter during installation that exceed 1/18 of an inch. Speed Restriction may be introduced in the event. 8) Contractor will be responsible for securing the Running Rail to the fasteners at the end each shift for safe service. 9) DTPW Track Supervisors will inspect the area worked prior to tracks going back in service each morning before 4:00 AM. 10) Contractor will provide all necessary unloading, handling, and disposal of old 40 miles lineal or 20 track miles of Running Rail and related processes necessary for the proper performance of this scope of work. 11) Contractor will be equipped with the ability to transport rail from the PYD yard to the mainline, if needed. 12) Contractor will ensure that the completely installed running rail is de-stressed to DTPW standards. 13) Contractor will be responsible for any rental or maintenance equipment, fuel needed prior, during, and after along with operator and riggers for the completion of project as well as transportation and setup. LOCATION OF WORK: The location of work to be performed under the terms of this Contract shall be as follows: 1) Dadeland South Station to Palmetto Station Tk#1 & 2 of the Metrorail System - Earlington Heights to MIC and all Pocket Track sections of the Metrorail will not be included in these phases of the project. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1) Have a minimum of (5) years of experience under its current business name performing railroad maintenance services. 2) Have verifiable experience with the installation or the replacement of rail, welding rail, continuous welded rail, and other rail components. 3) Provide list detailing services performed with this or other transit agencies. Estimated Cost: $3,524,600.00 License Requirement: Electric Contractor; General Building Contractor; General Engineering The location of work to be performed under the terms of this Contract shall be as follows: 1) Dadeland South Station to Palmetto Station Tk#1 & 2 of the Metrorail System - Earlington Heights to MIC and all Pocket Track sections of the Metrorail will not be included in these phases of the project SBE -service: 2.0% NO DBE Participation
