Site work and new construction of a multi-residential development in Victoria, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 103,827-square-foot, six-story above grade, 119-unit multi-residential development.
The Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Capital Regional District (CRD) with the mandate to develop and manage affordable housing to meet the needs of individuals and families residing within the capital region. In working to fulfill its mandate, the CRHC owns and operates over 2,000 units of affordable housing, providing homes to almost 4,000 residents of the capital region with low-to-moderate incomes. The Campus View project is a proposed redevelopment of a 5,052 m2 (54,379 sf) site at 2249 McCoy Road, Saanich, BC. The existing development consists of a 12 unit 2-storey townhouse complex with surface parking, and is owned and operated by the CRHC. Through the redevelopment, all the existing structures and parking areas on site will be demolished. The proposed redevelopment will provide 119 units of affordable rental housing on the site. The project is comprised of two separate six (6) storey woodframe buildings totaling 9,613.7 m2 (gross floor area) situated above a common underground concrete parking garage with 66 parking stalls. In addition, the proposal includes five (5) surface parking spaces at grade level.
