Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Greenville, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a clubhouse / community center; for paving for a clubhouse / community center; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work will include approximately 5,611 square yards of HMA surface removal and aggregate base conditioning; 2516 feet of concrete curb; 667 square feet of concrete sidewalk; 1304 tons of Hot Mix Asphalt pavement; 1,480 feet of parking lot striping; 632 square yards of topsoil and seed and 2062 square feet of landscaping to include bark mulch, trees and shrubbery. The parking lot at the Greenville Recreation and Community Center has been in service for many years and needs replacement. There are two distinct parking areas that service the building. One area will need to remain open while work progresses on the other all the way through striping. There will be a resulting cold joint to be placed in an agreed upon location. This Project includes completely removing existing pavement that is expected to be between 1-2 inches thick. All existing HMA surfaces from Kent Road to the north are to be replaced. The underlying aggregate base is to remain in place, but some minor fine grading and additional gravel may be necessary and will be paid for as Aggregate Base, Conditioning. The parking lot will have an addition on the south and east sides of the building that will require topsoil removal and earth balancing operations, which are defined in a special provision in these specifications. Exterior concrete curb and gutter and interior islands will be installed as shown. Aggregate base, designation 22A, will be added to the expansion areas and to backfill curb and gutter adjacent to existing edges. A 3-inch thick HMA mat will be placed in two lifts. The final restoration around the exterior will include 4 inches of topsoil and hydroseeding. Interior islands will be landscaped with mulch and plantings as shown.
