Sealed bids, in DUPLICATE, are sought and requested by the Seneca Falls Central School District (hereinafter called "Owner"), for the construction of the following Project: 2025 Capital Improvement Project Bids are requested for multiple prime contracts for Roofing Work, General Trades Work, HVAC Work, Electrical Work, and Plumbing Work, in accordance with Drawings, Project Manual, and other Bidding and Contract Documents prepared by Hunt Engineers, Architects, Land Surveyors & Landscape Architect, DPC 4 Commercial Street, suite 300, 3rd Floor, Rochester, NY 14614 Bid Documents are also available for electronic viewing at website; including an up to date Plan Holders list. Bid Documents may be obtained from the document distributor: Dataflow, Inc. via their designated web portal. Office: 176 Anderson Ave., Suite F200, Rochester, NY 14607, phone (585) 271-5730 or (607) 772-2001 or BidSupport@goDataflow.com. Ordering from this web portal automatically places the prospective bidder on the plan holders' list. This designated web portal will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a bid for the project. All official notifications, addenda, and other bidding documents will be offered through the designated web portal with notifications to registered bidders. Neither the Owner, Construction Manager, Architect/Engineer, nor Dataflow, Inc., as applicable will be responsible for bidding documents, including addenda, if any, that are obtained from sources other than the designated web portal. Refunds for payment of one (1) copy of the printed sets will be made to those submitting bids on the forms furnished, if the printed set is returned in good condition to Dataflow within 30 days from the award of the contract or rejection of bids. Any non-bidder may be refunded their deposit only upon returning printed set PRIOR to bid opening. All questions prior to bid opening must be received by the close of business on January 14, 2025. All bidders request for information shall use the form located in specification 00 12 00 - Request for Information. A digital copy of this form is available upon request. As bid security, each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond made payable to Owner, in accordance with the amounts and terms described in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The Owner requires that all bids shall comply with the bidding requirements specified in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The Owner may, at his discretion, waive nformalities in bids, but is not obligated to do so, nor does this represent that he will do so. The Owner also reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Under no circumstances will the Owner waive any informality which, by such waiver, would give one Bidder a substantial advantage or benefit not enjoyed by all other Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid before fortyfive (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, unless a mistake due to error is claimed by the Bidder in accordance with INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. Attention of Bidders is particularly called to requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. Bidders must comply with Section 220-I of NYS Labor Law, and provide Certificate of Registration as a part of their bid. Additional site visits are permitted by appointment only. Questions shall be directed to Charlene Stafford at Campus Construction Management at email cstafford@campuscmg.com Project Description The project consists of renovations and sitework at the following district buildings: o Middle School o Elizabeth Cady Stanton Elementary School o Frank Knight Elementary School a. All General Trades Bidders shall visit the site to verify and review existing conditions before estimating the cost of the project. b. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) is responsible to provide submittals in accordance with Section 01 30 00 - Submittal Procedures and ensure timely delivery of all products to meet the project schedule. Upon contract award, the General Trades Contractor should within one week, submit a list of any critical long lead time items and identify submittals which will require priority review. c. Priority submittals including but not limited to Doors Frames and Hardware, Windows, Aluminum Frames and Doors, Casework, security and safety glass, storefronts, and Structural Steel should be submitted no later than 3 weeks from project award. Any required revisions should be resubmitted within 1 week of returned submittal. d. Review Section 01 50 00 - Temporary Facilities and Controls and the Site Staging and Logistics Plan 01 32 16.2 for Work requirements of temporary construction activities in Prime Contractor's Scope of Work. e. Each prime contractor is responsible for all commissioning of equipment or systems installed as part of their scope of work as required in the contract documents as well as any required factory startup cost and providing the required training to the owner. f. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) shall provide Dumpster service for the activities of all Contractors, prime or otherwise except for the Roofing Contractor (Contract #104), until the completion of punch list work and acceptance by the Architect. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) shall clean and maintain all Dumpster areas and shall provide hauling and legal disposal of construction debris off site. In addition, The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) is to maintain a clean and debris free jobsite around dumpster areas. Dumpsters to be dumped and cleaned on a regular basis to prevent overflow. g. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) is responsible for preparing temporary building egress, and barricades as necessary in accordance with Section 01 50 00 - Temporary Facilities and Controls and as laid out in 01 32 16.1 Phasing Plan and 01 32 16.2 Site Safety and Logistics. h. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) shall perform the final cleaning of the project before the facilities are turned over to the district for their use. At that time, the General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) will contract a professional cleaning service to perform the final cleaning service. Refer to Section 01 50 00 - Temporary Facilities and Controls for further information. i. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) is responsible for checking and securing windows, doors and gates for security. j. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) shall receive and install into concrete and masonry work all auxiliary embedded items furnished by other Contractors, including lintels, sleeves, access doors, elevator inserts, anchor bolts, grouting of base plates etc., provided the products are delivered on a timely basis. k. The General Trades Contractor (contract #100) is responsible for caulking of all building exterior louvers, expansion and control joints. l. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) is responsible for interior caulking of all doorframes, stair stringers, windows and sills to adjacent surfaces. General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) shall caulk all joints where concrete, masonry, gypsum or other dissimilar material adjoin each other. m. All Contractors shall provide all temporary shoring, bracing, support, or protection systems necessary to expedite their Work requirements, including the maintenance of workers safety and compliance with OSHA safety regulations. n. Painting of exposed piping, HVAC ductwork and conduit in "occupiable" spaces shall be by the General Trades Contractor (Contract #100). Painting of exposed piping, HVAC ductwork and conduit in Mechanical Rooms, Boiler Rooms, Electrical Rooms and the building exterior shall be by the installing Contractor as noted on the Contract Documents. "Occupiable spaces" means areas where the students and staff would normally be permitted. Where previously above ceiling areas are now exposed, GC is responsible for painting any existing to remain conduit, ductwork, and piping. o. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) is required to patch where phones, millwork and or casework is removed, fire extinguishers, sound panels, TV brackets, smart boards, air purifiers, fire alarm devices and all general type wall mounted equipment, and where wall finishes are removed and the wall itself remains and is to be patched to receive new finishes. This is to be completed on all walls prior to installation of final finishes. p. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) shall provide power supplies, strikes and power transfer devices for all doors, per the door hardware schedule. q. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) is responsible for all interior and exterior building demolition complete including, but not limited to, concrete, masonry, structural and miscellaneous steel, decking, selective roofing demolition required to perform GC scope, doors and frames, windows, lockers, specialties, equipment, furnishings, partitions, floors, flooring, and ceilings unless specifically shown to be removed by another Prime. r. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) is responsible to furnish, install and maintain all temporary heating, cooling, and dehumidification if necessary for construction. All temporary equipment will be relocated as deemed necessary by the Construction Manager at no additional cost to the owner. Adhere to requirements set forth in Section 01 50 00 - Temporary Facilities and Controls. s. Cutting openings in walls and floors for doors, windows and crawlspace / attic access, including installation of lintels and louvers for these openings is the responsibility of the General Trades Contractor (Contract #100). t. Cutting, shoring and removal of structural members is the responsibility of the General Trades Contractor (Contract #100), including the cost of any delegated design responsibility as required by the contract documents. Prior to start of any structural activity, contractor should provide a shoring plan for review and approval. u. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) is responsible for including in contract temporary closure of all window opening, doorways with plywood and 2"x4" framing. Doors to include hinged openings and insulated on the inside. Maintenance of enclosures is in this contract. Temporary window opening enclosures will be constructed of 2"x4" framing with reinforced plastic serving as light source minimum of 24 square feet, balance of opening closed with 1/2" exterior rated plywood, insulated as necessary. v. The General Trades Contractor (Contract #100) shall install loose lintels from other prime contractors for new walls. w. The General Trades Contractor (contract #100) is responsible for Lead Paint Removal where penetrations of building elements are required to complete the scope of the General Trades Contractor's work.
