As of January 29, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on Mid-February. Any bids received after such date and time shall be returned unopened. The Proposal shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check drawn on a solvent Illinois bank or trust company made payable to the VILLAGE OF MILTON, or a Bid Bond issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in the state of Illinois and appealing on the U.S. Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570, as amended), in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The Bid Bond may be retained by the VILLAGE OF MILTON. as a guaranty that if the Proposal is accepted, the bidder will execute the Contract and file an acceptable Performance Bond and Payment Bond within fifteen (15) days after the award of the Contract. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The award of Contracts on this project shall be predicated upon competitive bidding, with award being made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Said lowest Bidders shall be determined for each Contract by summarizing the applicable low base bids. This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, "Open Space Lands Acquisition & Development" (OSLAD) grant program. The Village of Milton encourages minority business films to submit bids on the approved project and encourages successful contract bidders to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. The VILLAGE OF MILTON reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities in the bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the specified time for receipt of bids. Question Deadline 01/07/2025 The Engineer will consider such questions submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to bid opening. If the question includes the equality or use of products or methods, it must be accompanied by drawing, specifications, and any other necessary data to allow the Engineer to make a decision regarding the equality of the project or method. Such requests will only be considered from general contractors known to the bidding on the project.
