The Municipality of Anchorage, Solid Waste Services (SWS) is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide professional engineering services for various types of projects. SWS intends to award a single contract for one (1) year that may be extendible for four (4) additional one-year periods upon mutual agreement. The maximum total number of contract years is five (5). The amount to be expended for this contract could be up to and follow this schedule: Year 1 - $500,000 Option Year 1 - $550,000 Option Year 2 - $600,000 Option Year 3 - $650,000 Option Year 4 - $700,000 Total contract value will not exceed $3,000,000. Work will be done on an "AS NEEDED" basis. No specific guarantees of expenditures are made. Question Deadline 12/31/2024 at 12:00 PM AKT Any questions regarding this Request for Proposal are to be submitted in writing to: Municipality of Anchorage Purchasing Department wwpur@muni.org SWS operates the Anchorage Regional Landfill (ARL) located west of the Hiland Road-Glenn Highway intersection near Eagle River, AK as well as the Central Transfer facilities in Anchorage and a Transfer Station at Girdwood, AK. SWS continues to own previously occupied facilities that will need work on them to keep them operational or to remove them for safety reasons. SWS monitors and takes limited actions on three closed landfill facilities. SWS also encourages diversion of waste through various programs, agencies, and vendors. Situations and conditions arise at these facilities and in support of SWS activities that require immediate attention or do not require a level of effort sufficient to warrant additional procurement actions. “As needed” engineering services allows for rapid response and resolution of these issues in a timely and cost-effective manner. Work will be completed under individual delivery orders, typically less than $100,000 in estimated charges.
