Engineering Services ADA Compliant Pedestrian Walking Trail The Town of Hurtsboro is soliciting request for proposals for Licensed Professional Engineering and Design Services to develop an ADA compliant pedestrian walking trail with associated amenities in the existing park on Railroad Street in the Town of Hurtsboro. The project is funded in part by a grant from the Recreation Trails Program. The scope and services desired shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following: 1) Final project design; 2) Surveying, assistance with obtaining necessary permits and approvals; 3) Development of construction plans and specifications including bid alternates; 4) Preparation of bid documents, bid advertisements, bid openings, bid review, and recommendation to award construction contract; 5) Conducting pre-bid, bid and preconstruction meetings; 6) Approving construction pay requests; 6) Ensuring construction is in compliance with design specifications including preparing change orders and/or amendment paperwork, if applicable, and conducting a final inspection; and 7) Submission of 3 "as-built" site plan/property boundary area maps, upon project completion. The engineering firm will be rated and selected on a 100-point rating system. Selection criteria will be based, but not necessarily limited to the following: 1) Past and current experience with grant projects; 2) Firm's experience relevant to this project; 3) References; 4) Staff Qualifications: 5) Proposed implementation schedule; 6) Understanding an familiarity with needs and environment of the community; 7) Availability and communication with City and contractor; and 8) Estimated Cost of Service. All proposals will be ranked by a selection committee. A reasonable price will be negotiated with the highest rated firm. Should it be impossible to reach a satisfactory agreement for services with any consultant ranked on the basis of this proposal, The Town of Hurtsboro reserves the right to seek new proposals for services.
