This project generally consists of approximately 1,340 lead service line investigations consisting of test pits, visual inspections, replacement of lead and or galvanized service lines, restoration and other miscellaneous related work items. The project is funded through the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier check or surety bond of a corporation acceptable to the City and in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid presented, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00. Proposals may be delivered or mailed before that time to the office of the Director of Public Works, City Hall, Room 308, 50 Winfield Scott Plaza, Elizabeth, New Jersey, 07201. Bidders shall furnish one (1) original of their proposal. City Council reserves the right to reject all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. Copies of contract specifications and plans will not be mailed.
