Counties: Wagoner Calendar Days: 45 Days Resurface (Asphalt) US-69: From 0.15 Miles North of the Intersection of Sh-51b, Extend North Near Wagoner. Project Length = 1.960 Miles DBE Goal: -- Question Deadline 01/03/2025 - Please submit your questions through the ODOT pre-bid email address: ODOT-Prebid.Question@odot.org. Unless otherwise specified in the proposal, all bids must be submitted with a proposal guaranty equal to 5 % of the bid total. OKDOT - 281 - Resurface (Asphalt) - US-69 The Contractor is required to use warm mix asphalt (WMA) on this project by chemical additive only. Hot mix asphalt will not be allowed on this project. Provide an asphalt production temperature lower than the typical hot mix asphalt, and follow the WMA chemical additive Manufacturer's recommendations. A life cycle assessment of the asphalt mix will be completed, based on its carbon footprint and the construction of the pavement on this project. Upon request, provide the Engineer with information about the raw material origin, the distance and mode of transmittal to the plant, the methods of material, fuel usage during production of asphalt, and methods of material transport and placement of the asphalt. This information will be used by a third-party to prepare a life cycle assessment to measure the environmental impact and to calculate the asphalt production process through the cradle-to-gate approach. This work consists of providing electronic data for material weight tickets of all bituminous material delivered to the project. This work also consists of placing an identifying vehicle number on the driver side and the passenger or rear sides of the delivery vehicle. These provisions do not preclude or dismiss any requirement for paper tickets required by the Standard Specifications or other rules and regulations. A. General The American Burying Beetle (ABB) is listed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) as a threatened species. As such, the ABB is protected under the Endangered Species Act (the Act), which prohibits any take that may interfere with the survival and recovery of the species. A final rule under the authority of section 4(d) of the Act provides measures that are necessary and advisable to provide for the conservation of the American burying beetle. The 4(d) rule identifies certain activities that are excepted from take prohibitions, which differs by geographic area. FHWA delegatesthe ODOT Natural Resources Program biologiststo assessimpactsto species and to determine when application of the 4(d) rule for ABB is appropriate. Artificial lighting is known to disturb nocturnal insects' essential activities, including migration, dispersal, foraging, mating, and reproduction. For any federally funded projects let through ODOT within suitable ABB habitat, measures will be taken to minimize use of artificial lighting during construction. If night construction is necessary, direct light will be shielded to the work area and light will be prevented from projecting upwards. B. Contract Administration For projects where the 4(d) rule for ABB applies, artificial lighting may be used during construction for night activities if the equipment specifications in Subsection 656.03 of this Special Provision are adhered to and measures to minimize use of artificial lighting have been implemented. This work consists of providing and placing reflectorized and non-reflectorized plural-component pavement markings on asphalt concrete (AC) and portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement surfaces. Plural-component pavement markings includes multiple varieties of both fast setting and slow setting hybridized epoxies, modified urethanes/polyacrylates, methylmethacrylates (MMA), polyurea, or any other applicable plural-component materials approved by the Department. The training of minorities, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals toward journeymen status is a primary objective of this OJT Program. Accordingly, the Contractor shall make every effort to enroll eligible Trainees to the extent that such persons are available within a reasonable area of recruitment. The Contractor is responsible for demonstrating the steps taken in pursuance thereof prior to a determination of compliance with this Special Provision. This training commitment is not intended, and shall not be used, to discriminate against any applicant for training, whether the applicant is a member of a minority group or not. The prospective Trainee must express interest in entering the OJT Program, as well as exhibit sufficient commitment to completing the training.
