The City of Aurora, Illinois is in need of professional services from qualified engineering consultants for Phase III Construction Engineering Services for 2 separate federal resurfacing projects (Diehl-Molitor & Stonebridge). As a part of the selection process, the interested consultants are required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) to perform the requested work. The project is located on FAU 1490 & MUN 0230 (Diehl Rd & Molitor Rd) from Farnsworth Ave to Eola Rd in the City of Aurora, Kane & DuPage County, IL. The project length is approximately 2.99 miles. The anticipated construction cost is around $2,650,000. The project is located on FAU 3826 & MUN 0250 (Stonebridge Blvd) from Indian Trail Rd (east intersection) to Eola Rd in the City of Aurora, DuPage County, IL. The project length is approximately 2.58 miles. The anticipated construction cost is around $2,000,000. The work for both projects consists of hot-mix asphalt surface course removal, pavement patching, polymerized hot-mix asphalt binder course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, recessed pavement markings, removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk and curb and gutter, landscaping and all other appurtenant work required to complete the project in accordance with the plans. All questions must be received by 4:00 pm (CST) on Monday, January 13, 2025. A response to all questions received will be posted on the City online by 5:00 pm (CST) on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 any questions shall be addressed to the City of Aurora Purchasing Division, at PurchasingDL@aurora.il.us The City of Aurora reserves the right at any time and for any reason to cancel this consultant procurement process, to reject any or all SOQ's, or to accept an alternative SOQ. The City of Aurora reserves the right to discard any immaterial SOQ. The City and/or staff may seek clarification from a submittal at any time and respond promptly if there is cause for rejection. The City of Aurora will not be liable in any way for any costs incurred by consultants in replying to this request. Both projects are similar in scope and nature but have some differences, and will be processed as completely separate projects. Both projects are currently targeting the June 13, 2025, State letting with anticipation that construction will begin and be completed in Fall 2025. Both projects are currently under review by IDOT and have the potential to slide to a later letting, which would move construction into early 2026. Due to the funding source, if any of the projects slide past the November 7, 2025 letting that individual project will have funding rescinded and the City may elect to not move forward with the project. In that case, the City will not execute any construction engineering agreement for that project and no compensation will be provided to the impacted consultant.
