OWNER: The Village of Lake Villa hereby gives notice that sealed bids will be received for the construction of the 2024 Local Water Main Replacement. PROJECT: The work, officially known as 2024 Local Water Main Replacement, Consists of the replacement of the existing water main along Burnett Avenue in the Village of Lake Villa. This work will include approximately 615 feet of new water main, installed via open trench and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) methods, new residential water services, b-boxes, valves, and Hydrants. WAGE RATES: Contractors are required to pay not less than the prevailing wage rates on the project as established by the State of Illinois, Department of Labor, pursuant to Illinois Statutes. Copies of the prevailing wage rate determination will be on file at the addresses listed for inspecting Bidding Documents and will be included in the Contract Documents. BID SECURITY: Bids shall be accompanied by a certified or bank check or a Bid Bond on the prescribed form payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5% of the Total Bid Amount as guarantee, that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the Agreement, Bid Bonds will be accepted electronically, and MUST be uploaded online. Performance and Payment Bonds, and Insurance Certifications, as required by the Contract Documents, within 15 days after the Notice of Award. BID REJECTION/ACCEPTANCE: The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, waive any informalities in bidding or to accept the Bid or Bids, which best serve the interests of Owner. BID WITHDRAWAL: No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the scheduled opening of the Bids without the consent of the Owner.
