Booker T Washington State Park Pool Demolition Pre-Bid Meeting notes Location: Booker T Washington State Park 5801 Champion Road Chattanooga, TN 37416 (Meet @ the pool- first lot on the right past the Visitor Center) The Central Procurement Office conducts bid conferences to discuss the Invitation to Bid requirements, gather information, and to give the prospective bidders an opportunity to ask questions arising from their review of the solicitation. This conference is the time for interested bidders to ask questions about the bidding process, terms, conditions, and specifications relating to the solicitation. The pre-bid conference is for information purposes only. Nothing stated at the pre-bid conference shall change the invitation to bid unless the change is reflected in writing in the formal invitation to bid. Should you find any errors in this solicitation please submit those noted errors in writing to the buyer's attention prior to the pre-bid conference. Interested bidders should review all documents concerning the solicitation before the pre-bid conference. In the event that bidders wish to review hard copies of these documents during the pre-bid, bidders are responsible for bringing these to the conference for individual use. After the pre-bid conference, a final copy of the invitation to bid reflecting any changes will be issued to vendors on the bid list. The invitation to bid will have a designated closing date and time and must be completed and returned for bidding purposes. Before the Contract resulting from this Invitation to Bid is signed, the apparent successful proposer shall be registered with the Department of Revenue for the collection of Tennessee sales and use tax. The State shall not approve a contract unless the proposer provides proof of such registration. The foregoing is a mandatory requirement of an award of a Contract pursuant to this solicitation. General Scope of Work 1. The Contractor shall install silt fencing around entire area before demo starts. 2. The Contractor shall remove the power supply wires from the main panel box to the panel box located in the pool equipment room and from the panel box in the pool equipment room to the panel box in the kiddie pool equipment room. 3. The Contractor shall demolish the pool, equipment, walls, fencing and pool decking. If any hazard is found Contractor shall stop work and notify Facilities Management immediately. 4. The Contractor shall remove all non-concrete, metal and any other non-concrete material debris from State property and properly dispose of off-park within applicable regulations. Concrete shall be broken into 5-inch or less pieces for use by Contractor to subbase material for final slope. The Contractor shall demo the pool liner by cutting into sections or using equipment to remove and load for disposal. 5. The Contractor shall demo any metal found in pool demo site. This metal must be removed from State Park property and is up to Contractor for disposal off-park. No broken-up aggregate shall be used as backfill if it contains metal or re-bar. 6. The Contractor shall compact replacement fill dirt at 1-foot intervals with vibratory roller compaction. It shall be acceptable for the Contractor to break aggregate into pieces no more than 5 inches in size and add a layer of broken aggregate at 1-foot intervals. Each foot of fill soil shall have no more than 6-inches of broken aggregate added on top. There shall never be pieces of aggregate more than 5-inches in size added to fill. 7. The Contractor shall supply suitable fill material of suitable backfill not containing rock as needed to within 1-foot of grade. The Contractor shall supply and compact 1- foot of topsoil for final grade. The finish slope from surrounding area shall be filled and sloped to as close to a 1% slope as possible. 8. The Contractor shall demo kiddie pool and its deck 360 degrees around pool location. This includes concrete pad and foundation. All demoed concrete containing metal shall be removed from park property and disposed of properly off site. License requirements for this project are BC or BC-B with also CE-electrical or subcontract a CE. This Project must be completed by March 1st, 2025 The Contractor shall be responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the scope of work at Booker T. Washington State Park. Contractor shall be responsible to take their own measurements, etc., to properly quote the scope of work. Contractor shall be responsible to remove all debris off State property in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Contractor is expected to perform all work with quality workmanship, to manufacturer specifications and to the latest State and local codes. This request for bids is for a Contract to furnish all material, equipment, supplies and labor necessary to remove pool, equipment, decks, walls, and refill-compact voids.
