Site work and paving for a road / highway in Cypress, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Scope of Work of the Contract includes the following: Construction of Paving Facilities for Cypress Green Sec 21 of approximately 4,139 LF of 28-foot wide concrete pavement with 6-inch and 4-inch curb. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a certified or cashier's check, acceptable to the Owner, in an amount not less than two percent (2%) of the total amount Bid, as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into the Contract and execute the Bonds on the forms provided, and provide the required insurance certificates within seven (7) days after the date Contract Documents are received by the Contractor. If a certified or cashier's check is provided, the successful bidder shall deliver, at the bid opening address, the original certified or cashier's check within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt of the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive all defects and irregularities in bidding or bidding process except time of submitting a Bid. The Successful Bidder, if any, will be the responsible Bidder which in the Board's judgment will be most advantageous to the District and result in the best and most economical completion of the Project. The requirements of Subchapter J, Chapter 552, Government Code, may apply to this Bid and/or Contract and the Contractor agrees that the Contract can be terminated if the Contractor knowingly or intentionally fails to comply with a requirement of that subchapter. a. Under this Contract, Contractor shall furnish all materials, appliances, tools, equipment, transportation, services, and all labor and superintendence necessary for the construction of the Work as described in these Technical Specifications and as shown on the Plans. The completed installation shall not lack any part that can be reasonably implied as necessary to its proper functioning or any subsidiary item that is customarily furnished, and Contractor shall deliver the installation to Owner in operating condition. b. The Work, in general, under this Contract includes the purchase, installation, and construction of all structures, equipment, and materials, including appurtenances, as indicated on the Plans. Major items of construction and services required are designated as follows: (1) Perform roadway excavation and site grading, install wheel-chair ramps and landing pads, concrete curb, pavement markers and striping; (2) Construct reinforced concrete pavement; (3) Furnish and install all subsidiary items as necessary to complete the project; (4) Perform testing as specified; and (5) Clean-up project area upon completion. a. Execute cutting (including excavating and backfilling), fitting or patching of the work required to: (1) Make several parts fit properly. (2) Uncover work to provide for installation of ill-timed work. (3) Remove and replace defective work. (4) Remove and replace work not conforming to requirements of the contract documents. (5) Remove samples of installed work as specified for testing. (6) Install specified work in existing construction. b. In addition to contract requirements, upon written instruction of the Engineer: (1) Uncover work to provide for observation of covered work. (2) Remove samples of installed materials for testing. (3) Remove work to provide for alteration of existing work. c. Do not endanger any work by cutting or altering the work or any part of it. d. Do not cut or alter the work of another Contractor without written consent by the Engineer. e. Prior to cutting which affects structural safety of the project, or the work of another Contractor, secure written approval by the Engineer. Embankment work consists of placing and compacting approved materials to required lines, grades and cross sections. Roadway excavation consists of stripping, excavating, hauling, shaping, compacting and satisfactorily manipulating material within the project limits to required cross-sections. Waste material disposal consists of disposal of trees, stumps, logs, brush, roots, grass, vegetation, humus, rubbish and other objectionable matter from operations such as clearing and grubbing, excavation and grading. Unless otherwise specified, the Contractor is responsible for removal and disposal of waste material. Grading and compaction of subgrade consists of grading and compacting the road embankment to desired grades and cross section and to desired compaction. This item to consist of treating the subgrade by the pulverizing, addition of two percent (2%) lime and eight percent (8%) fly ash, mixing, and compacting the mixed material to the required density. This item applies to natural ground and embankment, and to be constructed as specified herein and in conformity with the typical sections, lines, and grades as shown on the plans. Work to be performed under this item shall pertain to the protection of the bayou and laterals from erosion. The structures and protection shall be installed as shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer at various locations and shall be so constructed as to protect the side slopes from erosion due to drainage of water from the berms or from lateral ditches entering the bayou. Structures will be constructed of corrugated metal pipe, concrete slope paving and sheet piling. "Seeding" shall consist of preparing ground, providing and planting a mixture of seeds, of the kind specified along and across such areas as are designated on the plans, or by the Engineer, and in accordance with these specifications. This section defines requirements and limitations for design, construction, erection, and removal of concrete formwork for this project.
