Demolition and site work for a restaurant in Millington, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the demolition of a restaurant; and for site work for a restaurant.
To be considered, Bids shall be made in accordance with these instructions to Bidders. Failure to comply with these instructions or any requirements of the Bidding Documents may be cause for rejection of the bid. INSPECTION OF SITE: Prior to submitting bid, the Contractor shall visit the site of the proposed work and shall thoroughly acquaint himself with existing utilities, work conditions to be encountered, etc. QUESTIONS: Bidders shall submit questions about the Documents to City. Replies will be issued to all Bidders of Record by Addenda which will become a part of the Documents. Questions must be received by end of business on Friday January 2nd, 2025. BID FORM: Bids shall be made on an unaltered Bid Form furnished in these specifications. Submit two copies of the Bid Form. Fill in all blank spaces on Bid Form; failure to do so may be cause for rejection. If a bidder chooses not to bid, write "no bid" in the space provided for the bid amount. Any additional stipu-lations on the Bid Form or qualifications in any manner may be cause for rejection. The Bid Form shall be signed by the person or persons legally authorized to bind the Bidder to a contract. BID SECURITY: A Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid is required and shall be issued by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Tennessee, made payable to The City of Millington. The Attorney-in-fact who executes the Bid Bond on behalf of the Surety shall be a resident of the State of Tennessee, and shall attach to the Bid Bond a certified and current copy of his Power of Attorney. The Owner will have the right to retain the Bid Bond of Bidders to whom an award is being considered until either (a) the Contract has been executed, or (b) the specified time has elapsed so that Bids may be withdrawn, or (c) all Bids have been rejected. Should the Bidder refuse to enter into Contract or fail to furnish all required attachments properly executed, the amount of the Bid Bond shall be forfeited to the Employer as liquidated damages, not as a penalty. CONSIDERATION OF BIDS: It is the intent of the City to award a contract based upon the lowest evaluated responsive bid submitted by a responsible Bidder with full consideration of any alternates. The CIty shall have the right to accept alternates in any order or combination, and to determine the low Bidder on the basis of the sum of the Bid. The City reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any informalities. CONTRACT BONDS: The successful Bidder shall provide a performance bond and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum. The Surety Company issuing the bonds shall be licensed to do business in the State of Tennessee, and shall be acceptable to Owner, and shall be listed on the US Treasury's "Listing of Approved Sureties". This listing of approved sureties can be found at the following web site Online. The Attorney-in-fact who executes the Bonds on behalf of the Surety shall be a resident of the State of Tennessee and shall attach to the bonds a certified and current copy of his Power of Attorney. The bid forms shall be submitted in a sealed opaque envelope marked with the following: Project name, Project number, Bid date and Time, Contractor's Name and Address, Contractor's License Number, Classification, and Expiration Date. The contractor making the bid shall list his subcontractors that will be a part of the team performing the project tasks. PROJECT SCHEDULE: The substantial completion for the project will be 84 days from the date of the notice proceed. EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT: The successful Bidder shall furnish the Con-tract Bonds, Insurance Certificates and sign the Agreement Form and deliver the documents to the Employer within five days after presentation of the agreement form.
